A gas-liquid contactor where liquid droplets are sprayed into a gas stream.
Spray towers create mass transfer area using droplets. They are simple and have low pressure drop, but may have lower efficiency than packed columns unless droplet size, residence time, and gas-liquid contact are well controlled.
